CREATING A SPECIFIC CO-OWNERSHIP FOR A DATA CENTER

The Gascon team, led by Audrey Robitaille and Marie-Chantale Dubé, was mandated by a major data center developer to set up co-ownership for one of its data centers in Quebec. The mandate took several months to complete. As part of its mandate, Gascon participated in the preparation of the cadastral plan with the land surveyor, and drafted a declaration of co-ownership customized to this domain, taking into account the reform of co-ownership law. Setting up this declaration of co-ownership required close attention to all the particularities and components of a data center, such as server rooms, loading bays and meet-me-rooms, as well as the equipment required for its operation and the accessibility of essential services to maintain cooling and energy equipment. The declaration also includes regulations specific to the needs of a data center in terms of access, confidentiality, security and management.
