RIOCAN ENTRUSTS ITS QUEBEC SHOPPING CENTERS TO HARDEN

After completing a number of transactions together, RioCan and Harden have agreed on a framework agreement for Harden to manage RioCan’s 19 shopping centers in Quebec, with the exception of the Gatineau centers, which will be managed by RioCan’s Ottawa team. Harden already manages its own shopping centers and is well recognized as having the expertise to increase the value of their real estate portfolio, whether through tenant quality, asset repositioning or other forms of redevelopment. Now they’ll put that added value to work for RioCan too. Gascon, through its partner Nicolas Beaulieu, led the transaction for Harden, negotiating a framework agreement that was extremely strategic for Harden. This transaction was in addition to another large-scale transaction taking place at the same time, in which Harden acquired 50% of the shopping center known as Méga Centre Notre-Dame, located in Laval and owned by RioCan. Harden and RioCan are also equal owners of Galeries Lachine. Gascon supported Harden in these 2 major transactions. His partner Nicolas Beaulieu specializes in real estate law, with a particular focus on complex acquisitions, where he provides strategic advice to clients on joint venture, management, development and financing agreements.
