Gascon, through partner Nicolas Lanthier^, was mandated to represent Bâtimo inc. in the sale of undivided interests in a major seniors’ housing project on Montreal’s South Shore, valued at over $90 million. As part of this mandate, Gascon’s team was mandated to prepare the documentation required to buy out a partner’s interest in the project, to negotiate the sale of undivided rights to the buyers, and to negotiate for the seller the new partnership and undivided interest agreements arising from the transaction. The firm will also represent the seller in the assumption agreements for existing financing following the addition of the new partners. As part of its mandate, Gascon’s real estate, corporate and notarial teams joined forces with 4 other firms, in addition to the valuable collaboration of in-house lawyers, to conclude this major transaction.
