Kate has practiced extensively in civil litigation and has appeared as counsel in the BC Supreme and Provincial Courts, as well as various superior courts in Washington State. In her BC litigation practice, Kate handles complex civil and commercial litigation files, property damage disputes, and debt collection matters. Kate has extensive court experience spanning from petitions and applications to being involved with both jury and bench trials.

On the solicitor side, Kate acts for administrative bodies as counsel, providing advice on disciplinary processes and procedural fairness. Kate also has experience with committeeship petitions, advising families who need take over affairs for loved ones who are no longer able to care for themselves and getting family appointed by the court to manage their affairs.

Prior to moving to Canada, Kate worked as an insurance defense attorney in Washington State on personal injury matters and property disputes and represented insured individuals and small businesses. Kate’s ability to practice in both BC and Washington gives her the unique ability to provide valuable advice to clients in dealing with cross-border matters as well as litigate in either jurisdiction.

Kate is a Seattle-area native who graduated magna cum laude from the University of Washington Tacoma and then went on to attend the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle. While in law school, Kate served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Washington Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. Kate also worked at a small law firm while in law school where she began her career as an attorney after passing the Washington State Bar Exam in 2019. After completing her NCA exams and articling, Kate was called to the BC Bar in 2022.

Kate enjoys travelling, cooking (especially Italian!), and working out in her free time. Kate lives with her husband and two cats. Kate is also fluent in Spanish.
