Representative mandate – Acquisition of an office building / downtown Montreal

Gascon & Associates, through partner Me Jean Proulx, was retained by a major financial institution to advise on the acquisition of a Class A office building located in downtown Montreal.

To initiate the transaction, a purchase offer was drafted and submitted to our client, then to the seller’s legal counsel. After several rounds of revision by both parties, the offer was finalized and executed.

Our team then carried out thorough due diligence in collaboration with the client’s officers, including a review of the title deeds, off-title searches, analysis of the certificate of location, and more.

Gascon & Associates then prepared the deed of sale along with several ancillary agreements. The scheduled closing date was met.

Notably, this marked the first in-person closing session in several years, a return to pre-pandemic practices.

In addition to Jean Proulx, colleagues involved in the transaction included Marie Chantale Dubé, notary, and Linda Charbonneau, paralegal.
