Nicolas Beaulieu focuses his practice on business law, particularly acquisitions, partnerships, financing, real estate and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
He underwent intensive training at Loyola University in Chicago, and was awarded the title of Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor (CMAA).
He is also a guest lecturer, sharing his knowledge and experience with others, particularly on the subject of joint ventures, limited partnerships and other forms of partnership.
Given his extensive experience in acquisitions, partnerships and financing, Nicolas regularly acts as a strategic advisor to his clients, where he participates in the development of strategies and decisions, and where his keen business sense, search for creative solutions and negotiating skills are particularly sought-after and put to good use.
Due to their scale, the projects in which he’s involved frequently involve complex partnerships and investment funds, occasionally including foreign investors and asset managers. In this context, he plays a role in advising them on project structure and appropriate legal entities, as well as participating in the acquisition, financing, development and asset management process.
Nicolas is also well-known in financing circles and represents numerous financial institutions, banking syndicates, institutional lenders and private lenders in setting up commercial and real estate financing. He regularly lectures to financial institutions on various aspects of financing.
He also advises on company organization, shareholder agreements and dispute resolution. He is co-author of an article on directors’ fiduciary duties, published in the Revue d’Études Juridiques.
